All property issued by the city to any firefighter shall remain the property of the
city and such shall be returned to the city whenever its return is requested by the
fire chief or city manager. It shall be unlawful to refuse to return such property
when duly requested.
(b)
As a condition precedent to being employed as a firefighter, every firefighter shall
agree in writing to return to the city any uniform issued to him by the city or shall
agree in writing that in lieu of the return of such uniform to the city, the city
may deduct from the salary of such firefighter the price of such uniform as payment
therefor.
